What is the Westerly College Club?
It is an organization comprised of about 150 women who hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. The club's primary focus is providing scholarships to current Bachelor's degree candidates from the greater Westerly area. The Club has met regularly since its founding in 1910.

Who are these members?
They are a diverse group of college educated women of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy gathering for programs of general interest, some of which are open to invited guests. Club members are encouraged to participate in the presentation of programs as well as serving on committees or being elected as officers.

When and where are meetings held?
Regular member meetings are currently held at 11:30 am, the first Wednesday of the month in October, November, January, February, and March, in the Parish Hall of Saint Clare Church, Crandall Avenue, Westerly. The Annual Meeting is held the third Wednesday in May.

What are the dues?
Dues are $50 per year to cover program and administrative expenses. Additional contributions are encouraged for the club's scholarship endowment fund and the program fund.

What are the scholarships?
Yearly scholarships are awarded to students who have graduated from area high schools and have completed one to three years of college. The scholarship funds come from member and non-member donations and from the Lois Hamilton endowment fund managed by the Rhode Island Foundation, of which only the income can be used for scholarship grants.

Is the Westerly College Club tax exempt?
Because of its mission to grant scholarships to greater Westerly students, the Club is designated a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All contributions are exempt for federal income tax purposes.
